Is it possible for computers on a domain to access a DFS namespace hosted on a non-domain machine? Right now, a client Windows 7 system can access regular shares but not DFS shares. No specific error message appears... just a generic error message.

Did you try the fully-qualified DNS name of the server hosting the DFS share? \\\servername.domainname.com\dfsroot\share –  Brandon Lawson Sep 7 '11 at 16:04
