I have a vps on virtuozo, with whm/cpanel and last night my vps was super slow. WHM was reporting a high server load, but the top command and a server load history from 5 hours back was on 0 to 0.5, no load.

So, my question is., Is there a way to know/monitor the real HOST server load on virtualized systems?

Thanks

In a word, no.

Some virtualitzation providers will give you access to host performance data (Linode does this, for example). If they don't provide you that information, though, there's no other way for you to obtain it.

then, how is that WHM/cpanel reports load when the vps is idle and "no process" running ? – mauri Sep 7 '11 at 12:22
