I have SharePoint 2010 set up with claims-based authentication using the LdapMembership and LdapRole providers. Users authenticate successfully against Active Directory and log in to the SharePoint page just fine.

Recently, I had to restore the site collection from a backup. Since then, I cannot add users to SharePoint groups. The error is "No exact match was found for i:0#.f|ldapmember|[username]". The Web App, Central Admin, and SecurityTokenService web.configs all are configured correctly (and the same way as before the restoration, where things worked fine).

The People Picker does not return any results from any search. Check Now will show suggestions from AD and Forms Auth, but neither will be accepted by Check Now. Clicking OK shows "No exact match found for i:0#.f|ldapmember|[username]. [X Icon] i:0#.f|ldapmember|[username]: i:0#.f|ldapmember|[username]".

Are there problems with CBA/FBA users and groups after a site collection restoration?

I appreciate any help you can give.
