Having a big problem setting up RAID 10 on a barebone server. I have (4) 2TB hard-drive. I am using a AMCC/3Ware 9550SX-4LP SATA2 RAID Controller. I am setting up a RAID 10. In the BOIS it listed all 4 hard-drive as 1.8TB apiece. GOOD!!! Here is the problem, I keep getting a Degraded error on one of the Drive...PORT 2 to be exact!!! Step 1-5 below is all my exact steps, setting up this RAID10.
Setting Up RAID10 in BOIS:
- Selected the DRIVES: (ALL FOUR)
Creating the RAID -Array Name: RAID10 -Raid Config RAID10 -Strip Size: 64KB -Write Cache Enabled -Drive Que Disable -cont err rebld Disable -Store sav prof Protection -Boot Vol size 30GB
Volume Size in GB (boot) 0 30 1 2009
Exportable units -4 Drive 64K RAID10 1.99 TB (RAID10) (so I ALT-R to RESCAN Rescanned the controller [Y/N] Y
Exportable units: -4 Drive 256K RAID10 3.63 TB (RAID10) DEGRADED port 2 is causing the error
what seems to be the problem, why did the disk degraded?
I have swap all hard-drives and Sata cables and I am still getting the DEGRADED issue. Please help, any advise or approaches to get this RAID10 setup on this barebone is appreciated?
