I am currently running MailScanner on a server, although considering to replace it by MailCleaner.

I would like to be able to resend e-mail that passes through the anti-spam server. This seems to me a very handy feature, that is only implement by Barracuda Anti-Spam firewalls and I was unable to find such functionality in open-source software as "this is not how e-mail works".

Although in cases of downtime and especially misconfiguration of destination mailservers or false positions, it would be nice to have a feature to re-send e-mail.

I am considering implementing MailArchiva soon as well, but I doubt mail archiving software has an ability to re-send old e-mails.

How can I set up my anti-spam server so I can resend e-mail that is somehow lost after it arrived on the anti-spam server? I know it means the anti-spam server should store all e-mail for a month, which is no problem for me.

This is indeed not how e-mail works, which is why its not a standard feature of sane mail servers. For a start, what mechanism do you plan to use to determine which emails should be re-sent? In any case, I think this question is off topic here. You're apparently asking for either a product recommendation, which we don't do here, or for help coding your own solution (I'm not sure which) which is possibly a stack overflow question but they'll need considerably more information in that case. – DJ Pon3 Sep 18 '11 at 10:47
