I am having a problem in JBoss 5.1.0 with the vfs-nested.tmp folder filling up with copies of the same jar files.
I know that other people have had this problem before, but I am unsure as to what my next steps should be.
A few facts:
- We are running JBoss 5.1.0
- Deployments are done using Twiddle via the MainDeployer - hdscanner is disabled
- We are running on RHEL 5 on a virtual machine and have been able to add some disk space to avert the immediate crisis
- we aren't using clustering (some people have had this problem with clustering)
I have a couple of questions:
- Can I delete these files without stopping JBoss? If not all of them, can I at least delete the oldest? Will this cause problems with the application?
- Some solutions suggest to set various flags such as
-Djboss.vfs.forceNoCopy=trueor-Djboss.vfs.forceCopy=false, but then cite concerns over memory consumption. Has any progress been made on this?
