I am trying to install iis6 on a remote machine running windows 2003 through powershell remoting. It does not seem to work. The same script works fine when run from the local machine.

I have been able to install iis7 on a windows 2008 server in a similar fashion, but does not work for iis6/windows 2003 server.

When I googled for it , one of the logical answers (although not conclusive) that I could find was that iis6 silent installation pops up a GUI based wizard which will not work over a remote session.

Is this right? Is there a workaround for this?

I am writing this as an answer since I don't have the privilege to comment anywhere now. I will update it later. Can you please share the script you tried in your question? If so I may be able to help you – RinoTom Jun 5 '12 at 14:07
