I have a Checkpoint/Sofaware Safe@Office 500WP with two WAN connections. In WAN1 I use TowerStream 5 mbps d/5 mbps u. I also route two L2L VPNs through that connection to the tune of maybe 1 mbps throughput each way. On the WAN2 I use Time Warner Cable 50 d / 5 u. I have plugged a laptop directly into the cable modem and achieve speeds from 40 - 50 mbps. However when I speed test (with no load from other users) with a host behind Safe@Office I am seeing speeds maxing out around 7-9 mbps. The switches are gigabit switches and the wiring is, to my knowledge, 100 mbps or gigabit. Is it really too much to ask the Safe@Office to handle 2 L2L VPN with 2 mbps total throughput, 5/5 WAN1, and 50/5 WAN2? It's rated for much higher throughput according to Checkpoint's documentation.
