I have a customer running Outlook 2003 and Exchange Server. They have an application that uses MAPI to send messages. This works in that the messages are sent, however in Outlook's 'Sent Items' view the 'To' column is blank.

If I run 'mailto:' from the Windows Start/Run menu, and send a message that way, it also sends successfully but has the unpopulated 'To' column.

However, if the recipient is in the Outlook address book, it sends and the 'To' address is also populated correctly.

There is no IMAP involved. I have reset the view settings from the Outlook menu.

Anything else I could try ?

In the past I've had other problems with MAPI software, it's not fun. Outlook 2003 is so old, and there are so many improvements to 2010 since that version that I'd be testing 2010 before spending serious time trying to fix the issue in 2003. – Dom Oct 11 '11 at 12:03
