I have a brand new Windows 2008 server that acts as a print server and DC. I have installed 4 printers on it; Canon LBP3460, Canon LBP6650DN, Canon MF9170, Xerox Phaser 6010 and a PDF printer (BullZip).

The printers work fine for 6 hours, but then the spooler crashes. And it craches everytime immediately after I try to restart the spooler. I can't even remove the printers because they are not visible because of the off spooler. And I can't reboot the sever everytime because it's also the DC.

Can someone tell me how I can fix this very annoying error?

Are all of those printers supported in W2K8? –  joeqwerty Oct 13 '11 at 12:49

That doesn't mean they're supported. Does the manufacturer list W2K8 as a supported OS? –  joeqwerty Oct 13 '11 at 13:35

All the drivers are supporting by Windows 2008 as 2003. I checked them all. I moved the print server role to a windows 2003 server and it's working fine now. thx for the replies. –  Sven Oct 17 '11 at 10:15

The Windows 2003 print spooler was also crashing.. Removed the Phaser 6010N driver and printer and all the problems are gone.. No more Xerox for this company :P. –  Sven Oct 18 '11 at 8:41
