As our list of virtual servers is growing, I was wondering if you could recommend a tool that will have the following features:

  1. Allow to inventory the VM's
  2. Allow to push software updates and install them
  3. Provide monitoring of the server's health

The VM's are hosted in three different places:

  1. GoGrid
  2. Hosted ESXi servers
  3. Local ESXi servers

All VM's are running windows (including database servers)

If you have vCenter, you already have #2. Use VMware update manager.

For #1 and #3, I'm using vCenter Operations Manager (vcops). It was reasonably priced, a snap to install and integrates well into our environment. Of course, your requirements are terribly demanding, so there's a grip of other products out there that would fit the bill too.
