I have a strange problem where scheduled tasks no longer run the application that it's supposed to run. It has always worked before but stopped working a couple days ago.
The task will report its status as "Running" but does not actually start the application. I thought it was just the application that I chose to run. However, it still doesn't seem to work when I choose some other program like the included calculator (calc.exe) or batch files I've created.
I'm stumped and am not sure what to check for. The scheduler isn't mentioned anywhere in the Event Viewer logs. On the day when the problem started, a strange warning related to W32Time showed up. The description is "The NTP server didn't respond".
The server in question is running Windows Server 2000.
