Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a Plesk-managed web server that I host my website on, and I have set up a cron job to run every night, but it's not working due to a problem with the path.

I am using CodeIgniter and everything is rerouted via mod_rewrite in Apache, so it's not actually possible to call the file internally.

How will I be able to pass it a URL/file location that is simply a mime?

What do you want to do? A URI is not an executable. And you can only run executables (with cron). –  mailq Oct 31 '11 at 19:45
Ugh... maybe it's not cron -- it's the built in Plesk scheduler. I want it to execute a PHP page that downloads all the data provided on the website. As of now, I'm running it manually each day. –  Allen Gingrich Oct 31 '11 at 22:52

Not exactly sure what you're trying to do, but you might want to try wget:

wget -q -O /path/to/output http://example.com/path/to/file.php
