Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a Windows 2008 R2 Server with IIS 7.5 using FTP. We are transferring a large number of files to to the server. The files transfer fine for some time, but then we start receiving 550 error responses from the FTP server. Even after restarting the FTP server, these files will just not transfer.

I have used Process Explorer to see if any handles are open and they are not. These files are in the same folder with other similar files. For example \Folder1\v_18_Live.xml will not transfer but v_19_Live.xml will. The files have almost identical content and size and close names. That is just one example. Generally, some files just will not transfer.

Does anyone have any idea what this might possibly be?

Thanks, John

I should note that this has to do with SyncBack and that the FTP is running fine on a regular FTP connection. –  Developer Nov 1 '11 at 20:33
