I'm looking for an alternative to Microsoft's User State Migration Tool which will meet the following criteria (or some, or most of them):
- Can be run remotely without interaction on the old machine.
- Will migrate only the specified profile.
- Allows selection what to migrate and what to ignore.
The User State Migration Tool isn't optimal in my environment for the following reasons:
- I do not have control of Active Directory and so cannot easily schedule events on a workstation.
- I'm not migrating a huge number of systems, just 20 total, and one at a time, so having the modify an .inf file and write install scripts is a little overkill.
The File and Settings Transfer Wizard is a little too lite because it does not allow me to specify the user profile to migrate, and it must be run by the user who is going to be migrated.
I have a preference for free but if a tool has sufficient capability, I'd consider paying for it.
