Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I renamed a folder on the site and created new folder with the new name for seo reasons. I would like to redirect all content to the new folder, What should I write in the web.config file?

I already use redirect for specific files and it works for me.

<configuration>
<httpRedirect enabled="true" exactDestination="true"  httpResponseStatus="Permanent">
    <add wildcard="/example/lon/2.htm" destination="/Pro/London/1.htm" />
 </httpRedirect>
 </system.webServer>
 <configuration>

I don't understand which approach should I take: url rewrite rules and or with http redirection.
