I know that Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (ADLDS) is easily installable on Vista SP2 by the Windows6.0-KB975540-x64.msu update.

However, I cant seem to get it working on a Vista SP1 machines I have. Does anyone know how to install ADLDS on Vista SP1 or is it the case that there is nothing like ADLDS / ADAM for Vista SP1?

The download page for Windows6.0-KB975540-x64.msu does not clearly define this.

Why don't you just install SP2? – MDMarra Nov 16 '11 at 1:21

I agree with MarkM...move to SP2 and see if it starts working then. The official MSFT line would be to move to the latest SP then continue testing. – Top__Hat Nov 16 '11 at 3:54
