On a new VPS, I upgraded Ubuntu 10.10 to Oneiric. I now have an init process (PID 1) which has CPU load 1. This is the same, even if I reboot. Why?

Use initctl log-priority debug to turn on logging. And see if you get anything informative. – Sachin Divekar Nov 29 '11 at 0:19
