We have installed Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 on two different servers.
One server is Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise and everything works fine here. The other is Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2 and we are not able to login to communicator here.
Both are terminal servers and into a same domain. However Office Communication Server is in different domain. Which has a trust relation with the domain where we have installed the Microsoft Office Communicator 2007.
One more strange thing in the server where installtion does not work is- User Name and Password Field does not gets poulated where in other server it gets populated and we put our user name as domain\username and then put password...and everything starts working there.
Thanks upfront. Kabir
Enabled the Event Log for Communicator-
The log says-
Description: Communicator was unable to locate the login server. The DNS SRV record that exist for domain logica.com point to an invalid server cube04.groupinfra.com which is not trusted to provide support for the domain because the server's domain is not an exact match.
Resolution: The network administrator will need to double-check the DNS SRV record configuration to make sure that the SRV record for the domain points to a server name that conforms to the DNS naming convention in the server deployment guide.
Could it be the network setting(the subnet where server resides) or Trend Micro AV???
