I'm setting up a new Data Protection Manager 2010 server and it's going relatively well, I have 6Tb of disk storage in my disk pool and I have created a couple of protection groups containing several servers. All of the data volumes, SQL databases, Sharepoint farms, etc are showing up with a green tick.

One problem is that, in every case, I'm showing 'Replica is inconsistent' on the BareMetal Recovery and System State items, for every server, without exception. enter image description here Executing the 'Perform consistency check' causes the item to briefly go yellow while the check executes, then immediately back to red with the same error message.

Any ideas what could cause this and how one might repair the problem?

[UPDATE] It seems to be the Bare Metal Recovery that is causing the problem. I can allocate System State by itself and that shows as consistent. Adding Bare Metal Recover causes both items to become inconsistent.
