I am using a 2.6.35 domU guest on a 2.6.32 dom0 and a 4.0.1 Xen hypervisor. Using netperf with UDP_RR I get 1819 and 622 transaction per second for domU and dom0 respectively, but in UDP_STREAM test domU is showing a better throughput for all packet sizes (on average around 3Mbps better). Is it normal or I am missing something? Since I have read in many papers that domU has an awful networking performance.

You've got a newer domU than dom0; I'm not sure why it would be surprising that the newer software manages to perform better. – Chris S Dec 20 '11 at 4:37
Yes, but I am comparing a direct with virtual networking, proved to be a major setback of Xen, and the virtual is performing better. – Mohammad Hedayati Dec 20 '11 at 6:44
