I am looking for a tutorial for specially:

  • FreeBSD 8.2 with ZFS as storage (this has been done)
  • Samba as fileserver
  • OpenLDAP as user storage

I have set up a FreeBSD 8.2 with ZFS for filestorage, snapshots works. Samba also works with local users, and tdbsam backend.

I would need help to (from the tutorial, or from you)
Configure OpenLDAP to work with FreeBSD (log in), and access Samba with LDAP users, and the when samba access the files on ZFS ACLs as the LDAP user.

Asking for tutorials is generally not a good idea, as the tutorials get out of date quickly, and are of little use to future visitors. Instead, if you have a specific question about where you're stuck, feel free to ask another question outlining exactly where you're stuck. – Mark Henderson Jan 23 at 10:40
