I'm sure i've had this working in the past. The IPMI / iLO settings have been configured under Software -> Power Management but the "Power On" item is greyed out when right clicking on a host which is switched off.

What have I missed?

Thanks

Do you mean vCenter? vSphere is the name of the product line, not a product itself. – Starfish Jan 16 at 23:37
@Starfish vSphere is the name of the application i'm using to try and power on my esxi host? (I think?) – Lee Tickett Jan 16 at 23:51
is this a new host, one thats been around, or one you just imported? – Patrick Jan 17 at 0:00
@Patrick it's been around a while although it hasn't been powered up for a while and appeared to have lost it's ipmi settings (hence i re-entered them) – Lee Tickett Jan 17 at 0:01
It might be worth a shot to delete and reimport it. NOT delete from disk, just inventory. Then create a new machine, but use the existing disk image. Things like the mac address will change, but thats it. – Patrick Jan 17 at 0:08
