Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I installed vCenter on the server I want to clone. That server has 2 volume (C: and E:). Half way through clone E: it fails because I dont have sufficient space on the target (or destination). Is there way to exclude a volume or exclude large db file from E:?

or may be I can some other open source tool to clone and create vmdk?

Just to be sure: You are trying to clone/convert the physical server you are running VMWare vCenter on? Or is this another server where you just want to run the converter? –  pauska Jan 19 '12 at 16:18

Actually, I restarted the process and this time I am saving the vmdk on external hard drive with plenty of space. Thanks –  Andy Este Jan 19 '12 at 19:55
