I have a server which shuts down every 1-3 days. When the server comes back up, there are no indications as to what caused it. There does not seem to be any pattern in the time between shutdowns or the time of day they occur.
The problem seems to have started after there was a critical powerfailure in the hosting center. Before that, there had also been occasional problems with the server clock jumping back and forth in time.
This led me to belive it was a hardware problem. But all the hardware, including all the disks in the RAID have now been replaced, not even the powercord is from the original hardware.
Does anyone have any clues as to what might be causing this? My next step will probably be to install a completely new server and OS from scratch and migrating all the applications and data (needless to mention I'd rather not have to do that....).
