we have a work group network of approx 15 user.

Application server: windows server 2008 standard edition. file server: FREENAS 8.

mail server and domain setup has been avoided for easy administration.

option required:

mail access within internal network from Google mail. no access of mail from outside network. user level restriction on sending confidential documents. we want to setup each mail account with internal intranet authentication so that user has no access to original mail password.

our thinking:

  1. setup individual user outlook mail so that user cannot access original gmail password.
  2. document and files has been secured using freenas file server with user level rights.

kindly provide feedback on best practice for these implementation.

If you are using Google Mail your mail is already accessible outside your network, if not by your staff, by Google. If your company doesn't trust the staff it knows and has contracts with, why trust Google staff which you neither know nor have contracts with? – dunxd Feb 1 at 16:51
