I have a new Microsoft SBS Server - This is set up for a small engineering firm. Occasionally, almost daily, I have trouble delivering mail to a couple of domains. I googled the message "Delivery is delayed to the following recipients or groups..."

Solutions seem to point to IP 6, or DNS issues, I found this site, and have decided to post my own question.

To get the mail delivered, I could restart the server. This obviously is not a solution. I found a script that stops and starts all the Exchange services, but that was not the solution.

I finally stopped the DNS Service, and restarted. Then in the Exchange Queue Viewer, I selected Retry, and the mail was delivered.

Has anyone seen this behaviour, and is there a solution I could implement on a more permanent basis.

Thanks

Great idea to ask your question here. If you haven't done it already, please read the FAQ, especially the paragraph about how to ask. Please provide more details. Error messages, in-depth technical clarification on why and how you determined that this is in fact an issue, why you would restart the server, and what retry errors you see in the Queue Viewer etc. :-) – Mathias R.
