My internet conection is through a Squid proxy server with authentication. This proxy only has digest authentication configured. Because of this the only programs (clients) that connect well are web browsers. Other applications that only support basic or plain authentication will not, of course, connect.

What can I do to get client applications that only support basic authentication to authenticate against the Squid proxy using digest authentication?

I want to connect client applications that only support BASIC authentication against my Squid proxy who only supports DIGEST authentication. –  nerdhacker Feb 16 '12 at 16:43
