Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have spent days working on setting up this server and have one last task to solve. I've set my CentOS 6 server to autologin and I need to find a way to get it to auto join the domain and then start or restart winbind.

Does anyone know how to configure this?

You should only have to join the domain once. Are you doing this so that you can automate the installation for future servers or are you having some problem with winbind? –  MDMarra Feb 17 '12 at 14:43

I have to join the domain everytime I reboot the server –  heatStroke Feb 17 '12 at 14:53

You should not have to join the domain every time you reboot the server. You may want to work with your Windows administrators to see if you can figure out why your system is not working correctly. –  larsks Feb 17 '12 at 15:40

I guess I'll just have to deal then, my network admin is the same guy that: plugged my server into a 100M port, told me 2TB volume size was a Raid 10 limitaion, and recommeded I use Raid 5. If I die they just better not reboot! –  heatStroke Feb 17 '12 at 16:38
