Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently migrated my WP site to a VirtualBox CentOS 6.2, using an IP address as the hostname (192.168.56.101 goes to my home page).

I've edited the httpd.conf file of the DocumentRoot directory:

AllowOverride All

Now in WP, I reset the Permalinks and I get 404 errors on each page except the homepage. If I switch the Permalinks to Default (?somenumber), the pages load correctly.

I'm not sure how else to debug this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is what my .htaccess file in my DocumentRoot looks like:

# Use PHP5 Single php.ini as default
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5s .php

# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress
