I have been facing this annoying error when trying to setup Github on Mac, OS version is Lion. Basically, I followed the steps as mentioned at this URL: http://help.github.com/mac-set-up-git/

I always stuck at the step of executing this command "ssh -T [email protected]"

I have tried to output the debugging message and below is the message log. The last message shows that it's due to an error 'Write failed: Broken pipe'.

Please give me a solution to fix this error if you have ever encountered this error before and able to fix it.

user-users-macbook:.ssh useruser$ ssh -vT [email protected]

That's from a stale SSH connection.
Try adding the following lines to : Private/etc/ssh/ssh_config

ServerAliveInterval 120

OR

ClientAliveInterval 15
0

The Broken pipe error usually happens when you hit the connection timeout (e.g. your connection is slow or there is a temporary outrage).

If this happens very often, try increasing the server alive interval value in your SSH config (~/.ssh/config):

Host *
  ServerAliveInterval 30
  ServerAliveCountMax 6

See: What the options ServerAliveInterval and ClientAliveInterval mean?
