Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a server with several FTP accounts and would like to keep a log of changes being made to files. So when a ftp user uploads a file the old and new one are compared and changes are logged in a logfile.

Haven't found any programs that can do something like that so hopefully someone van help me!

Your FTP software (the daemon, not the client) might be a useful detail to add to this question. –  Ladadadada Mar 13 '12 at 18:16

As Ladada said, the FTP daemon you're running will help immensely. The majority of options out there have this functionality, but it's just a matter of configuring the verbosity and log file to write to. –  NcA Mar 13 '12 at 19:21
