Providing automated feedback about usage and errors on my personal equipment helps developers. Apple devices all do it mostly automatically but Microsoft commercial software is pretty much all opt-in.
What should I consider when deciding to enable it on development or production machines (such as SQL Server etc) at work?
- Security (what data is sent, how it is sent and whether it provides a larger attack surface).
- Privacy (I want to be helpful, but not identified).
- Bandwidth.
- Law.
- Anything else.
