We are running Exchange 2010, single server. We do not have any Service Packs installed so Search-MailboxAuditLog is not available.

Upper management have asked me to provide data on a user's mailbox activity. I don't think they know what they want me to find for them, so I'm stumbling in the dark. I get the impression they want me to give them a report showing what the user has deleted over the past 30 days.

How might I achieve this?

Agree with Vick. Management needs to state their requirements. What exactly do they want to know? What emails were sent, received, deleted, etc.? If they weren't specific then you need to ask them to be specific. Never let management give you indistinct or unclear mandates. It's your job to ask them to tell you specifically what they want. –  joeqwerty Mar 22 '12 at 10:51
guys thanks for the comments and agree, which is why I have been pushing back. In the meantime, as per my question, how would I audit what the user has deleted over the last 30 days? –  Matt Mar 23 '12 at 4:31
