Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have here a Windows Server 2003 with IIS 6 on it. There are multiple sites running on it. One of them has a login for managing the contents. Now the administrator of this site want to upload an image via an ASP script. This doesn't work anymore.

The user either get

  • constantly asked after the login data or
  • he get "Connection interrupted": Website is temporary not available/check your internet connection settings/ disable your firewall

In Firefox the site works except the file upload. In IE9 the site is very slow (only backend). What can be the reason for that? There is no SSL used.

I tried to look in the script, but cannot really test something. I tried to restart the server without success. I tried to locally disable virus scan and firewall with the same results.

How can I find out where the problem lies?

None of the tags indicate what you are using to upload data; is it ASP , PHP - what ? –  adaptr Mar 30 '12 at 13:46
I should have mentioned that. It is ASP. –  testing Mar 30 '12 at 13:58
Can you post the ASP Code snippet? Thanks! –  Chris Anton Mar 30 '12 at 19:51
