Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

we have recently set up a windows 2008 R2 Server with Exchange 2010.

Now one of our admins was advised to install MS Dynamics 2011 on that server as well.

It seemed to work as we can access the CRM stuff. But our smartphones (iphone) and our mac e mail clients cannot access https://SERVER/owa as there is happening a 500error, internal server error.

After we had a look in the event log, we found:

I googled around and found this:

http://nishantrana.wordpress.com/2011/01/20/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-microsoft-crm-version5-0-0-0-cultureneutral-publickeytoken31bf3856ad364e35-or-one-of-its-dependencies-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified-or-deploying/ and I've already tried this, but it won't help.

Any ideas on that?

Thanks in advance!

This looks like a CRM error when trying to use Outlook Web Access.

According to the link below, when installing CRM on the same server as Exchange, you must change the port numbers used by CRM, otherwise it will overwrite the default web site settings required by Exchange for OWA. The link is also very detailed on how to get both working on the same machine.

Source: http://www.interactivewebs.com/blog/index.php/server-tips/microsoft-crm-2011-how-to-configure-ifd-hosted-setup/

You'll need to adjust your IIS settings so they point the secure ports back to Exchange.

Good luck!

I think you might need a :

  1. Separate DNS for CRM and exchange with separate ports (this should be already in IIS ).
  2. Please have a look who starts the CRM / Exchange processes from services .
  3. Because the CRM instance is not configured as it should be , it doesn't allow the loading of the OWA part of Exchange (which is also on IIS ).
  4. "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Crm, Version=5.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies" and at my current german language level , "Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden" - the system can't find the specified file - this looks like an CRM error or maybe MSSQL ?

Alex, 'Das System kann die angegebene Datei nicht finden' does not mean DATE but FILE. –  Serv Sep 13 '13 at 9:25

Uh , I need to learn German the proper way (hopefully beginning this year !). Thank you for the correction! –  Alex H Sep 13 '13 at 13:51
