On a fresh install of ubuntu natty (64bits); when i try to install proftpd it's stuck at config check; can't figure out why, pulling my hairs out !

It used to work without any problem but then somehow it doesn't.

(opened a bug for this too: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/proftpd-dfsg/+bug/983823)

Install log :

# apt-get install proftpd

I don't see any errors there. Did you try to start it with an /etc/init.d/<name> start? –  Hersheezy Apr 18 '12 at 12:20
It's 'stuck' at 'proftpd -t' i have to manually kill pid 704 1220 1228 1235 1293 (as in example) and even after that proftpd start does the same; stuck at 'proftpd -t'. –  Disco Apr 18 '12 at 12:31
