Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

first time on server fault. Like the title of my question goes, I have a huawei E153 3G modem that provides internet for a small office of 15 pcs. We just configured windows server 2008 x86 with SP2 and I have been trying to get NAT working using RRAS mmc and it just won't work. so I decide to remove the RRAS service and just configure ICS and still nothing with an error saying routing and remote access has been installed on the computer and must be disabled first. I do that restart the server and still it complains. Can anyone make me understand why NAT won't work in this setup? I have done NAT before on Server 2003 only difference being that my ISP connection had a static IP. Please help cos I don't know what to do.

how does Windows see this modem ? through an ethernet or USB ? –  Mathieu Chateau Apr 19 '12 at 21:54
well it shows up as huawei 3G Network Card under adapter settings so I think it sees it as usb –  Eagletrophy Apr 20 '12 at 22:21
