Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

i have admin panel, and links to phpmyadmin, munin and other services outside. admin panel generates links like: /admin/custom/pma/key/0ab9686a282bae59e63bda6d59f2cf3d/ and goes out to phpmyadmin dir, i just wonder how to make nginx to pickup that link and key and grant access only to this call and user, then he just login to phpmyadmin with own password. and no access to these services from any other place.

is there any special module or config? cause i m not sure how this will work exactly.

thank you

How exactly is the key generated? How would it be verified? –  Sašo Apr 29 '12 at 20:32

Assing some special cookie when user visiting secret locations and check this cookie in if {} in phpmyadmin folder - and kick user out if he don't have secret cookie. –  Dmitry Verkhoturov May 1 '12 at 13:12

hm, have this link /admin/custom/pma/key/hash_here_whatever/ - so nginx will accept only this referer, i just need nginx to read this type of url as referer. cause no one will ever spoof a link like this. –  ADM May 5 '12 at 22:34

some sort of hiding location from direct access, and make rewrite from this link /admin/custom/pma/key/hash_here_whatever > phpmyadmin, not much information on this rewrites... –  ADM Jul 15 '12 at 22:12
