I want to know if there have been any issues creating big files on IIS with Crystal Reports.

I create reports that are bigger than 800 megs; it works fine when i do this locally. However, as soon as I try to generate these reports on my IIS server this does not work.

I run the website on IIS 7 with Windows Server 2008 R2 x64.

Are there any issues with generating large files on IIS 7 with Crystal Reports?

Is your local machine x64? An 800mb report will use many times that much memory to generate. It's entirely possible that an x86 server just cannot allocate enough memory to create them. However, 2008 R2 does not have an x86 version, so either the OS or the architecture is wrong... –  Mark Henderson May 9 '12 at 20:25

Are you 100% sure it's x86? Because Windows 2008 R2 does not come in an x86 version. It comes only in x64. So either your listed OS is wrong, or your version is wrong. 32-bit systems cannot allocate more than a few gigs of memory per process, which is why they're not great for large processes. However you need to be more specific. What does "not work" mean? Is there an error message? What happens? –  Mark Henderson May 9 '12 at 20:33

im sorry i mean x64 im always getting confused on those two ... sorry ... it just timeouts out and does not create the file on the server . –  Lunatikzx May 9 '12 at 20:34
