when connecting with Microsoft iSCSI initiator from windows 2008 std we see 8 connections which is normal since server has 4 iscsi nic and SAN has 8 nic, but the issue is that when we logon to each iscsi session then from disk manager it shows the same disk 8 times, does this have to do with MPIO, even thought we are not using powerpath,

do you check multipath option when connecting with the iscsi initiator? Windows as well as linux have native MPIO capabilities. I presume that if you checked this option, you would not see 8 disks any more. – Dmitri Chubarov May 20 '12 at 3:44
