I have a several windows clients processing some data which is sent over UDP. For load balancing DNS round robin mechanism is used. But it has one drawback it doesn`t take into account if a client is alive. Is there any software tool which can run on Windows to solve this problem?

Kind of the nature of the beast with UDP. Might be better off internally in your app checking the state/timeout of a session (or switching to TCP if you can). –  gravyface Jun 5 '12 at 11:58

its not an option because data is SNMP traffic, so I cant change anything in protocol. And there is no option to change application behaviour. –  Alexander Jun 5 '12 at 12:09

I think only a shared-storage cluster or application-aware load balancer could solve this –  JGurtz Jun 5 '12 at 18:45
