Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a x3550 MT7978. It is somewhat old, but still reasonably fast for my task (Standalone ESXi hypervisor with DAS).

I have just noticed this in the RSA-II BMC event log:

Non-fatal internal north bridge error. Status Reg = 0x2

It is marked with severity level error or "E" which is the highest (i.e. red) you can get.

I have searched it up and the only other information I can find points back to some official IBM forum where the guy with the issue was advised to 'replace the motherboard' by an IBM employee.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? If yes, how did you fix this? Is this something to be worried about? The server logged this about 2 days ago and it's still running fine.

I'd suggest calling IBM. –  Magellan Jun 12 '12 at 2:17

I would have but unfortunately warranty has expired which is why I posted here. Thanks anyway though. –  Amit P Jun 17 '12 at 23:07
