I am having issues getting jumbo frames enabled in Ubuntu using an Intel PRO/1000 PT LP NIC with two bonded 1Gb lines.

Following the readme that comes with the Linux driver, Ubuntu will not allow me to change the MTU size according to those instructions.

Each time the MTU is changed, there are errors bringing up the network bond saying "option with empty value" at that line in the configuration file. I am trying to change the MTU for the bonded interface.

I realize that Intel does not officially support linux with its driver, but I would like to get this working in Ubuntu.

Can you apply the mtu change to an unbonded GE interface? Which module are you loading - e1000 or e1000e? – rnxrx Jun 18 '12 at 23:13
