I'm trying to figure out how to open up my MYSQL installation so that I can access it elsewhere.
I have two servers one linode with a fresh install of mysql. I am trying to access this mysql install from another server or alternatively sequal pro (a mac mysql client). The server does not have a static IP so I need to use the domain name to enable user:host access in mysql or alternatively the
% wildcard, which I've done and it still wont work.
For sequal pro I'm using the
linode ip for the
host and mysql user and pass via the "standard connection" and it does not work, however SSH connection works.
