I have created a cron job to run every 15 min for week day, but it starts running from morning 5:30 am I am confused why its running before schedule time. Also, I checked system time and it seems correct.

Cron sysntax:

*/15 09-18 * * 1-5 /usr/local/apache/php/bin/php /app/myapp.php

How much earlier? –  bahamat Jul 9 '12 at 4:20
Did you check that the system clock is synchronized and that the server on which you run the script is in the same time zone as you ? –  golja Jul 9 '12 at 4:38
When you checked the system time, did you make sure to do that from root's environment? It's possible to set the timezone for yourself, even though the system has another timezone. To check the actual system timezone, run "date" when logged in as root, or check the ZONE entry in /etc/sysconfig/clock . –  Jenny D Jul 9 '12 at 7:51
