Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I got a Cisco ASA 5505 (8.4) , I got a Wap 200 sitting on a port as an AP.

Sometimes (wireless) computers getting IP's from the ASA DHCP server cant get on the internet.

Configuration looks like this:

dhcp-client client-id interface outside
dhcpd address 192.168.1.9-192.168.1.40 inside
dhcpd dns 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 interface inside
dhcpd auto_config outside interface inside
dhcpd update dns interface inside
dhcpd option 3 ip 192.168.1.1 interface inside
dhcpd enable inside

Worth mentioning is that internal computers can always be reached.

I always have issues when a machine is assigned a IP via DHCP, sometimes it works, sometimes it do not. Operating system is irrelevant, the randomness makes me belive its something in the ASA that does not route the traffic from the DHCP assigned IP's outside because I can always reach anything on the internal network. –  ROAR Jul 16 '12 at 21:23

When that happen again print the route table from the client and post it here. –  golja Jul 16 '12 at 23:32
