i have developed an application which uses a jQuery plugin, which in turn uses excess cookie data. the problem is after every 15-20 request i am shown this error message by the browser.
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
after digging around i came to know by default apache has the default value of cookie length somewhere around
8190 bytes. and to increase the limit.i need to change/add the below line to configuration directive.
i tried adding the above code in
.htaccess and restarted the apache server too, but it didn't work.
i am confused on where to place this line. is it in
httpd.conf file or is there anyway i can increase the limit using
.htaccess file. i will appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction.
and BTW i am on OSX 10.7.4 using MAMP.
