Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I managed to install Hyperic on Rackspace Cloud instance and started the server & agent. At the end of the install, the shell said "install successful, you can connect now to http::" but it doesn't work! The Apache web doesn't return anything.

I've got 2 hypothesis:

  1. Apache doesn't listen to this port.
  2. The port is blocked by the firewall.

I'm not a server guru yet that's why I ask my question here. Thanks.

What OS are you running? Also, run netstat -nltp and check if apache is listening to port 80. –  Chida Aug 13 '12 at 19:55

It's an Ubuntu. I'll try netstat & Iptables tomorrow at work. But obviously the port 80 is open as it is web server. The port set up during the install is very unusual, it must blocked at the moment for security reasons. –  Guilhem Soulas Aug 13 '12 at 20:43
