Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Here's my setup:

  • ConfigMgr 2012 RTM
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
  • Local SQL 2008 R2 SP2 (default instance)
  • Reporting Services native mode

I'm trying to install a ConfigMgr 2012 Reporting Services Point, and I'm getting errors saying:

System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The path of the item 'User - Device Affinity' is not valid. The full path must be less than 260 characters long; other restrictions apply. If the report server is in native mode, the path must start with slash. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InvalidItemPathException: The path of the item 'User - Device Affinity' is not valid. The full path must be less than 260 characters long; other restrictions apply. If the report server is in native mode, the path must start with slash.~ at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005Impl.GetPolicies(String Item, Policy[]& Policies, Boolean& InheritParent)~ at Microsoft.ReportingServices.WebServer.ReportingService2005.GetPolicies(String Item, Policy[]& Policies, Boolean& InheritParent)

These are appearing once, for each report category, in the srsrp.log file.

Here's what's in srsrp.log prior to all the errors:

Loading localization resources from directory [d:\Program Files\SMS_SRSRP\SrsResources.dll] Looking for 'English (United States)' resources Looking for 'English' resources Found resources for 'English' Creating ConfigMgr Security Role [ConfigMgr Report Users] in SRS. Any ideas on how to resolve the Reporting Services installation issue? It seems to be having trouble creating all the report objects.
